You can enter
this quiet valley from different departing
points to be agreed upon in a previous talk
with the Guide, who will advise and inform
you about the most convenient.
From the valley surrounded by the Hills Inacayal
(1,840 m), Belvedere (1,685 m) and Filo Belvedere
(1,685 m) you can make walking trips in the
surroundings. For example, you can arrive
to the beginning of Arroyo Las Piedritas,
or simply camp and enjoy flora and fauna.
On your way you may see majestic condors,
with their 3 metres length, flying in circles
while they are using the different air streams
or you may find pumas’ or foxes’
footsteps.
During your walking you will hear the sound
of water coming from Arroyo Las Piedritas,
that composes the Inacayal Fall and continues
its way up to its end in Nahuel Huapi lake.
You will cross small ‘threads’
of cristal water and might hear and see several
types of bird which have their nests on the
trees or are working, like the Austral woodpecker
with red crest.
Walking (to go) will take you between 3 and
4 hours, depending on your rythm. Summer is
the best season to do it, although autumm
shows the most beautiful colours because some
species like the LENGA and the beech dye their
leaves red before falling
If you do this trip by horse riding, it will
take you approximately 9 hours. You start
climbing up the ravine which is between the
Hills Belvedere and Inacayal and continue
crossing zones of coigues and reed beds. Then
you get higher at the LENGAS forest which
becomes harsher as you arrive to the end of
the climbing. Finally you arrive to Cajón
Negro, a little valley of Belvedere Hill.
Lunch consists of an excellent snack with
a good wine. Later you visit Las Piedritas
stream and come back along the slopes located
over the Correntoso lake.
